German grammar made easy - exercises for beginners

Practical experience is somewhat different from studying grammar. I believe strongly in the power of grammar, enabling us to gain control over whatever language we want to master. These exercises complement the German course offered on primitivecode.com, they are practical exercises with "implemented grammar". Grammar needs to be intuitive and easy, just like the exercises. So here you go, enjoy!

  1. Nouns (the main classes)
  2. Simple verbs (the indefinite pronoun "man")
  3. Accusative case - simple pattern drill (der, die, das / ein, eine, ein)
  4. Simple verbs - climbing the ladder (the next level: the third and first person, starke verben)
  5. Nouns once more - accusative and dative case of various important nouns - getting more and more proficient with German noun inflection - the sentences are not meant to make sense, but to understand and internalise the paradigms of plural construction
  6. Now nouns - plural pattern drill - again practising nouns confined to the verb geben - a synthesised syntactic environment to understand and internalise the paradigms of plural construction and of the verb geben
  7. The genitive case in the singular expressing possession
  8. The genitive case in the plural (expressing possession)
  9. The accusative case - nouns, determiners, pronouns
  10. The genitive case - more nouns in the singular
  11. The genitive case - more nouns in the Plural
